Welcome

Life gets better by change

. . not by chance.     You are reading this because you want a more efficient way to handle your customers and paperwork.

Learning your new system

Finerbutcher.com  is a software application that will streamline the production process at your plant.   You will be able to handle existing customers with ease and look ahead to increasing your sales.   Duplication and repetition will become a thing of the past and getting home on time the new norm.

Nobody likes change,  but it is the only way to improve.  By creating a system designed specifically for your industry,  we hope to ease the process with familiar terms,  concepts,  forms  etc.

We recommend the following steps to help you :

  1. Look at the DEMO.  Print one of the cut sheets and follow the simple steps.  It should take you 10 minutes.  And give you a good idea of what you will be learning.
  2. READ all the documentation.  Look at the examples and samples.
  3. CALL us and we will be glad to answer questions and share a screen to show you the features.
  4. Familiarize yourself with the icons.  We use a lot of them because they take up less room and help keep you focused on your tasks.
  5. Start thinking of your day as being driven by tasks.  Your data is now centralized  and multiple people can view it at the same time.

Will this be like using Quickbooks ?

Yes.  And No.

Like Quickbooks (QB),  finerbutcher.com is made up of "modules"  that all work together to store, display, update and print your data.   In QB you have Vendors,  Orders, Invoices etc.

But QB is a general accounting program and FB is a production application.

FB also has columns (fields)  like  "Hanging Weight"  and

How will all this save me time ?

Glad you asked.

  • Less errors because instead of writing,  you are printing information already stored.
  • All your data is in one place and can be searched instantly.
  • Cut Sheets are streamlined,  neat, legible and contain only what each employee needs.
  • If you use the email notifications and customer portal,  you will spend less time on the phone.
  • You won't overbook your ability to Kill or Cut.
  • Your invoices will be accurate because you are not re-entering the data into another system.
  • Multiple users can help update the system as the animal is processed.
  • You can access the data wherever you are,  at any time.

Cut Sheet Science

If you are like most plants,  you are probably using your printed Cut sheet for multiple purposes:

  • Name and address and other important info of the Producer
  • Item selection
  • Kill sheet
  • Cutting sheet
  • Storage info - what boxes, bins shelf
  • Invoice

Not any more.

When you look at a Cut Sheet on paper,  you see several different kinds of information.  There is a Customer name and address,  a Tag# with dates,  Notes,  each Cut  etc.

Look at your current Cut Sheet.    You only fill in a single section as it goes through your office and plant:

  1. Customer name, address,  species,  drop off etc.
  2. Confirm date
  3. Drop off - pen numer and comments
  4. Kill Info (SRM) and hanging weights
  5. Selected cuts and notes
  6. Pieces and weights of each cut
  7. Storage information
  8. Total it up
  9. Pickup info
  10. Payment info

finerbutcher  does the same thing.  It separates your cut sheet into the steps so you can easily perform the same operation to multiple sheets at one time.

But since you only have a single copy of each,  you can only make ONE of these.  With the software you can make as many as you want and print the results.

In a software program each of these is kept in a separate place.   You only need to add a producer's information one time and then you can use it over and over again.

So when you start to look around your new program,  it will appear as if the data is "separated"  because you see "pieces"  of it.  That makes the screens much quicker.  When you need to see the "whole cut sheet",  you simply press print.

Duplication

For some of you,  each new job is a test of your penmanship and patience.  You have to fill in a cut sheet,  maybe a Kill Sheet,  a carcass Tag,  write the name on a calendar and you know where this is going.   Each time you write something by hand is an opportunity to make a mistake - mix up a number, leave something blank etc.    Then when you look at how do know which one is correct  ?

The Task list gives you access to several other screens to help you manage your plant.

Here you will find several reports,  including Daily Receipts,  Accounts Receivable,  Producer Summary and more.
