Modules & Screenshots

Almost every software application is divided into "Modules".   Even a simple Customer Management system will have  Contacts,  Meetings,  Emails etc.   Quickbooks (TM)  has Invoices, Payments,  Purchase Orders  etc.

"Module" is just another word for each unique type of data.    Software puts all the same data in one place and then connects the pieces.  That is why you only have to enter a Customer once.

Take a look at these two Modules.

Account:

  • Name
  • Address
  • Phone  etc.

Tag:

  • Tag#
  • Date Killed
  • Date Cut
  • Hang Weight etc.

See how different these are ?

So the most nerdy line of this manual is right here:

Modules are called Tables,  and a bunch of Tables together is called a Database.

Here is a list of the different kinds of information, i.e. Tables,  that make up your new Database.

  • Accounts
  • Orders
  • Tags
  • Invoices
  • Payments
  • Payables
  • Storage
  • Notifications
  • Batches
  • Species,  Items & Options (Cut Sheets)
  • Scale Data (optional)
  • Notes
  • Reports
  • Contacts
  • Calendar
