Storage

At any time during the Deer season you will likely have dozens (or more) whole and boxed Deer in your plant.   To handle this you now have Storage information available that lets you easily track, report and update this important data.

When you created the Deer Order,  the system automatically created Storage.

  • For each Whole Deer there is one row of data.
  • For Boxed Deer,  there is a row for each box.

Weigh In

When and where you weigh any boxes probably changes based on day of week,  time of day and number of customers.    For example, on the weekend you may just have the boxes put in the cooler without being weighed so staff can check them on Monday.

Most of the time,  this will happen:

  1. Create the Deer Order
  2. Select the Items
  3. Print the Check In Sheet (2 copies) and Labels
  4. Send Hunter,  with sheet and his Deer to the "dock"
  5. Once boxes are weighed,  staff fills in your copy of Check in Sheet.
  6. Check In Sheet is given to Office staff for entry.

Update Storage using Scanner

Using the barcode on the Check In Sheet you can quickly bring up a screen designed to enter the box weights.    SU  stands for  "Storage Update"

Update Storage from the Cut Sheet Form

You can access the Storage Update from the Cut Sheet Form.  At the top is the Storage icon with a count of how many rows.

Update Storage from the Tag List

On the Tag List,  there is a column  "BX#" that also gives you access to the Storage Update screen

Finally, the Update Storage screen

Below is the screen that appears when you access the Update Storage screen from any method.

The pencil indicates NO WEIGHT has been entered as yet.

The  DBND  (or  B/L)  column stands for  DEBONED (or Boneless).

Only rows with "Yes" and a Weight filled in will be distributed to Specialty Items !!!

To enter the weights,  you

  1. Click into the first weight column.
  2. Type the weight
  3. Press TAB key to advance
  4. On LAST row,  you may have to click out of the weight since there is no advance.
  5. When finished,  click 'CLOSE'  button at bottom of panel.

NOTE:   If you make a mistake or have to change these amounts later, that is fine.  The system remembers how to distribute the weight !

Where did that Weight Go ?

Glad you asked.

Remember when you selected the Items that asked for a "Requested"  or "Green"  ?

The weight from updating the Boxes now goes and fills in the "Batch Weight".   The system tries to give at least as much as the "Request Weight",  but that may not be possible.
